EXPERIENCE TANZANIA

Night Game Drives

When daylight fades, the wilderness reveals an entirely different side of itself.

AFTER DARK

When the Wilderness Changes Shift

quieter, shadows deepen and animals rarely encountered during daylight begin to emerge.

A night game drive allows you to explore this hidden side of the safari experience from a specially equipped vehicle. With an experienced guide and spotlight, the journey focuses on movement, sounds and subtle signs that might disappear unnoticed during the day.

Depending on the destination and a little safari luck, encounters may include genets, civets, porcupines, bush babies, hippos away from the water and predators becoming increasingly active after sunset.

Night drives aren’t about racing through a checklist of species. Much of their appeal lies in the atmosphere: following a pair of eyes reflecting in the darkness, hearing something move beyond the beam of the spotlight, and experiencing a landscape transformed by night.

THE NIGHT EXPERIENCE

A Different World After Sunset

Nocturnal Wildlife

As daytime animals settle, other species become active. Genets, civets, bush babies, porcupines and other nocturnal animals may emerge, offering encounters that are unlikely during a conventional daytime game drive.

Predators After Dark

Lions, leopards and other predators often become more active during the cooler evening hours. Night drives provide a chance to observe different behaviours as the dynamics of the wilderness begin to change.

Sounds of the Night

Without daylight dominating your attention, the sounds of the bush become part of the experience: distant calls, insects, rustling vegetation and the occasional roar carrying through the darkness.
