Depart Arusha early in the morning and travel through the beautiful landscapes of Northern Tanzania towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you reach the highlands, continue towards the crater rim before beginning the spectacular descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for your game drive.

Spend the day exploring the crater floor, a remarkably diverse landscape of open grasslands, swamps, forest and soda lake. These habitats support an exceptional variety of wildlife, including wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, hippos and large bull elephants. Keep watch for predators such as lions and hyenas, while Ngorongoro also provides one of Tanzania’s best opportunities to search for the rare black rhino. 

The crater’s wetlands and lake attract a variety of birdlife, including flamingos when conditions are suitable. During the day, pause for lunch surrounded by the scenery of the caldera before continuing your game drive and exploring more of this remarkable ecosystem.

Later in the afternoon, ascend the crater walls and begin the scenic journey back to Arusha. Arrive in the evening for drop-off, bringing your Ngorongoro day safari to an end.
