DAY 01

Arusha → Tarangire National Park

Your safari begins after breakfast with a drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, a landscape known for its ancient baobab trees, sweeping savannah and impressive elephant herds. On arrival, set out on your first private game drive, exploring the river valleys and open plains in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and other wildlife. Tarangire’s quieter atmosphere makes it a wonderful introduction to the Northern Circuit. Later, continue to your lodge for dinner and a relaxed evening.

DAY 02

Tarangire → Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, travel towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at the crater viewpoint to take in the vast volcanic landscape before continuing through the highlands towards Serengeti National Park. Enter the Serengeti for an afternoon game drive across its legendary plains. This is classic safari country, home to lions, cheetahs, elephants, leopards and immense herds of grazing wildlife. Continue exploring into the late afternoon before heading to Seronera for dinner and overnight.

DAY 03

Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Start early when the Serengeti is coming to life and wildlife activity is at its best. Spend the day exploring with your private guide, following the areas offering the most rewarding wildlife viewing during your visit.

The experience changes with the seasons, from the southern plains during calving season to the western and northern migration corridors later in the year, while Central Serengeti offers excellent wildlife viewing throughout the year. A sunrise game drive can be arranged, with a hot-air balloon safari available as an optional extra. Return to Seronera in the evening.

DAY 04

Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, journey towards Ngorongoro with a picnic lunch before descending approximately 600 metres into the crater for one of the most rewarding game drives of the safari.

The crater floor supports an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, wildebeest, zebras, hippos and the endangered black rhino. Explore its grasslands, wetlands and woodland before ascending from the crater and continuing to your lodge for the evening. A Maasai village visit can also be arranged at an additional cost.

DAY 05

Lake Manyara National Park → Arusha

After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for your final game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Set beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park combines lush groundwater forest, open landscapes and the lake itself within a surprisingly compact area.

Explore in search of elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hippos, baboons and rich birdlife, with the park also famous for its occasional tree-climbing lions. After your afternoon game drive, return to Arusha, where your five-day safari comes to an end. Airport drop-off can be arranged.
